Hi girls,
Just a note about make-up in the cold months. It is a whole different ball game when the cold weather hits. Your skin is dry, your hair is dry.....EVERYTHING is just dry! So....of course you have to MOISTURIZE. If your skin is touchy and you tend to break out, a heavy moisturizer can mess you up. Stick to the lighter ones (I LOVE Cetaphil moisturizer and cleanser..use it EVERY DAY). If that is still too much...a moisturizing foundation will do a good job of giving you that little extra needed moisture. Don't forget to EXFOLIATE. It is so important to get that dead skin off so your moisturizer will sink in and your make-up will go on so much more smoothly. Exfoliation will help you get that perfect glow to your skin (think J-LO)...along with drinking tons of water and and a good OMEGA 3-6-9 once a day.
As for the make-up itself, the colors for eyes, cheeks and lips do change with the seasons, but I am a firm believer in wearing the colors that compliment you!!!! NOT NECESSARILY THE HOT NEW COLOR.....because not every girl can wear BRIGHT red lipstick and look like Marilyn Monroe. So my advice is keep it within the realm of your skin tone, hair color etc. Make-up is supposed to ENHANCE you and make you the star of the show....the make-up itself should never take center stage. I am a huge fan of the smokey eye look..like super dark eyes, but if you do that, ya gotta keep those cheeks and lips fairly nude.In turn, if you love to do a dramatic lip, in bright or dark colors, then the eyes should be kept low key. If you follow these basic rules you never run the risk of leaving the house looking like a....well...I'll let you figure that out!!

Just a quick note to our younger Cali 10 girls: I truly believe that the younger you are, the less make-up you need. Your skin is perfect just the way it is and you don't need A TON of anything...just a little touch here and there. Light glosses and shimmery shadows that are not over powering look perfect on already perfect and still "undamaged" skin. TRUST ME....you will have ample time to paint on the make-up in the years to come...when you actually might need it a little more! Just something to think about!
